Job Interviews do not have to be as tough as they seem. People who are more prepared usually do  better . Interview preparation requires not only preparing interview questions and answers but also understanding the role and the company ethos as well. Of course, elementary errors such as arriving late need to be avoided when trying to make that vital  first impression.

There can be a propensity to wander on in  a job interview. Sometimes you may feel that you either don’t understand the question or you need to give an elaborate  answer to justify a dearth of knowledge . Note that your communication skills are also on trial during the interview and you will have to enlighten  the interviewer not only with the quality of  your answers but also the relevance.

Embellishing  previous experience  during the course of a  job interview?

This is really dangerous territory in a job interview. Naturally, you must sell yourself well. This is a competition between you and the other candidates with the grand prize being a job at the firm. Do not resort to embellishing the truth. In most cases interviewers will have done some background check  on you before you enter the room and as the interview enters  the final stages, they will be certainly be doing more.

You should always have some questions prepared for the interviewer. It is a very strong  signal of intent. You applied for this job and you want it!  You need  to know all about it and the company. Even if this is the twentieth person whom you have met at this company , ask them the same questions to see if the response is consistent.
